Anansi is intrigued by it all, but he's also found some things baffling. He can't quite grasp how people converse through those phones they always carry. He even finds himself frustrated by the lack of politeness in some situations. But Anansi is a spider god, after all, and he's not one to be discouraged. He's already begun on a series of schemes to make his mark on America.

Every evening, as the sun begins to dip below the horizon, little boys and girls would gather around Grandma Rose. She sat on her woven mat, her ancient eyes check here twinkling with joy. Trading in my/Swapping out for/Bidding farewell to the familiar comforts of America, I embarked on a new chapter/leg/stage of my journey, landing in vibrant/bustling/lively Nairobi. The energy here was palpable, a blend of modern life and ancient traditions.
